Like a dream on the wings of a fairy tale, the forgotten Danish opera has now been resurrected. (...) Politiken

Rifail Ajdarpasic's beautiful scenography, which first imagines a small, white room in a Biedermeier interior, opens up to a large, beautiful room in a castle with high panels and a marble fireplace, where nature enters as a visible reference to Andersen's nature-romantic universe... and together with Anders Poll's lighting, it is an example of true theater magic that would have thrilled Andersen as well. (...) Operamagasinet Ascolta

The scenography is razor-sharp, and it expands elegantly in step with the story, the costumes are beautiful and well-executed, the soloists and not least the choir of the Jyske Opera sing particularly well, and the Danish lyrics combined with the uncomplicated music make this in its own way an obvious opera for beginners. (...) Fyens Stiftstidende

“(...) according to Philipp Kochheim, Hartmann's artistic achievement in this work contains "some of the most beautiful, masterfully orchestrated and charmingly melodic music ever written on Danish soil". These are undeniably big words, but as the Odense Symphony Orchestra interpreted it under Christopher Lichtenstein's well-laid musical direction, one is inclined to give Kochheim the right in this blue stamp of the work's level. The audience was at least on board, the applause was overwhelming, and in that sense "Ravnen" can fly on to the Musikhuset in Aarhus with a proud flap of its wings. (...) Kristelig Dagblad

It is certainly a magnificent experience to see Den Jutland Opera's staging of H.C. Andersen and J.P.E. Hartmann's Raven. I will especially remember the beautiful scenography, the elegant choreography, the well-played and overwhelming music as well as the powerful choir, all of which help to convey the slightly moving and at the same time slightly odd story about H.C. Andersen's Armilla. (...) Ungtteaterblod.dk

(...) And the end. Wow. I had really high expectations for it, and yet it surpassed my imagination - just as reality ends up surpassing Armilla's. Because even though the libretto ended as I expected, the execution was so fantastic that it still surprised me and excited me enormously. (...) Den 4. Væg

You really get your eyes peeled for scenographer Rifail Ajdarpasic's wonderful visions, exciting from Hammershøi to 1001 nights and carried by the constant high tide in J. P. E. Hartmann's music - and saved from H. C. Andersen's rickety libretto by the director Philipp Kochheim, outgoing director of the Jutland Opera. (...) Weekendavisen

“How he [H.C. Andersen] would have loved the well-singing Jyske Opera Choir, and how he would have enjoyed Sønderjylland's Symphony Orchestra... Finally, he would have loved the fantastically beautiful scenery and the imaginative costumes of the evening. He would have been amazed at what can be done today with means of light and sound. (...) Jydske Vestkysten

Set designer Rifail Ajdarpasic has done a very good job, and the transformation of Armilla's room into a party room and civic home in beautiful Hammershøi style is amazingly imperceptible and elevates the visual experience. In fact, the scenography is more beautiful and more functional than many of the Royal Theatre's own productions at the moment – well done by a traveling performance. (...) klassik.org

(...) Der Opernfreund
